Q.What is 50Mbps speed?
A.Our 50Mbps internet is our super powerful internet service and the fastest speed available in our markets. The 50 Mbps speed is 10 times faster than the current Cable ONE standard internet.

Q. What equipment do I need to have to get 50Mbps speed?
A.In order to receive the fastest speed you need to have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. You can pick one up at the Cable ONE office to rent. Some customers may choose to purchase one.

Q. What is Mbps?
A.Mbps is an abbreviation of Megabits per second and the common term used when speaking of broadband internet speeds. Mbps determines how fast High Speed Internet data is being moved from one location to another.

Q. What can I expect with 50 Mbps speed?
A.Users of 50 Mbps speed will find their current internet experience enhanced which means different things for different users. Some consumers find their searches and surfing are much quicker. Many enjoy the improvement of sound and video quality in video streaming sites. In general, you will do a lot of things you normally do today but in better more satisfying way.

Q. What are your different 50Mbps plans?
A.Our 50Mbps plans are available to our Elite and Preferred customers. Our Preferred customers receive 50 Mbps with a 50GB High Speed Internet data plan. Our Elite customers receive 50Mbps with a 50GB High Speed Internet data plan and a free bonus 50GB High Speed Internet data plan

Q. The Elite and Preferred account status sounds expensive. I can’t afford to pay a lot for Internet.
A.Actually our Elite and Preferred customers often pay less then our standard customers. Our Elite and Preferred customers receive many extra perks in addition to receiving the 50 Mbps plans, starting as low as $25.00 a month.

Q. How can I become an Elite and Preferred customer?
A.Our Elite and Preferred options are available to anyone entering into a contract with us. Our new Elite and Preferred customers get deep discounts on phone, video and Internet. Based on your needs, there are many options to choose from.

Q. What is a gigabyte?
A.A gigabyte (GB) is a measure of computer data storage capacity and is roughly a billion bytes.

Q. What is a data plan and why do you have them?
A.A High Speed Internet data plan is a set amount of data or internet usage you are provided each month. How often our customers use the Internet and what they use the Internet for, varies greatly. Some use it rarely while others use it for long periods of time to download movies and stay in constant communication. However, the majority of our customers will find our High Speed Internet data plan extremely generous. Monthly allowances more fairly reflect how our customers are using their services and helps Cable ONE maintain competitive monthly rates for all our customers.

Q. What does the average Cable ONE internet customer use in a month?
A.Every customer is different but our average typical customer uses about 7GB a month

Q. I have no idea what I use each month. What is an example of 50GB usage?
A.If you received and sent 10,000 emails, watch 30 hours of video streaming and downloaded 500 songs in a month you would be close to using 50GB.

Q. Will I be able to check my usage?
A.Yes! Cable One has developed a personalized web page called My Bandwidth, which will give you up- to-minute information on usage. This is available by logging into My Account on the Cable ONE website.

Q. Will you notify me if I near my monthly allowance?
A.Yes. Cable ONE will provide an automated alert message in your browser that will appear on top of a web page when you surf.

Q. Is there a time of day I have unlimited usage?
A.Yes. During the overnight period between 12:00 A.M., midnight and 8:00 a.m. each day local time, Cable ONE does not count usage against your monthly plan. This means that activity such as software updates and anti-virus updates do not count. You may choose to schedule heavy usage such as downloads or sending pictures during this time.

Q. How much do I have to pay if I go over the limit?
A.On the slim chance you go over your plan’s usage limit Cable ONE will charge just $ .50 cents for each additional GB. However, we want you to try the High Speed Internet data plan risk free. If you get charged an overage fee at any time during the first 90 days please call our office and we will gladly remove the overage charge.

Q. What if I don’t like the High Speed Internet data plan?
A.We think you’ll love our new 50Mbps speeds and the new High Speed Internet data plan. However, we want you to try the High Speed Internet data plan risk free. If you have an overage charge during the first 90 days and decide the plan is not right for you, we will let you drop the plan without penalty.
